</w:wrap></v:imagedata></v:shape>Miuccia Prada is a visionary, a design mastermind and exquisite
creator of all things fashion. Prada is renowned for its iconic name and
stunning designs which is why the inspiration and motive behind each collection
is so intriguing. Prada’s spring/summer ready to wear collection this year is
an essential part of the trend setting movement but where did this extravagant
collection originate from.<o:p></o:p></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHEWxhJq-Ra5gelVhM34MZZq10PiftCz4I86JG3QGzmg8bS8ZHxla3LxukHp8jjF5h1KjbamztRCsZvqr5OkYD4MkcgIaqipB4r0zNtDx934-n822TR7CoD9YbxXhJ-ISlAqkQpZdVoIBV/s1600/gg.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHEWxhJq-Ra5gelVhM34MZZq10PiftCz4I86JG3QGzmg8bS8ZHxla3LxukHp8jjF5h1KjbamztRCsZvqr5OkYD4MkcgIaqipB4r0zNtDx934-n822TR7CoD9YbxXhJ-ISlAqkQpZdVoIBV/s1600/gg.jpg" height="320" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="text-align: center;">A street/gang element
reared its head throughout the collection intervened by tribal and artistic
references. An idea spawned originally after seeing political Mexican muralist’s
wall art which then developed into Miuccia instructing a group of six graffiti
and muralist artists into designing and depicting imagery of women in the everyday
looking empowered and ended up styling the walls and the venue Via Fogazzaro in
Milan where the show took place.</span><br />
<div align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;">
<o:p></o:p></div>
<div align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;">
As bold as the
surroundings were Miuccia Prada made sure the collection would turn heads and
stand out more provocatively then the vibrant backdrop. Thus a rainbow
extravaganza entered the runway, garments from a colour pallet so versatile in
colour and shade it emphasizes the outrageous, urban/street vibe surrounding. The
whole imagery of women’s faces depicted on garments and intertwined into
abstract patterns all related to Miuccia Prada’s strong feminist views and
about empowering women through the art form.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2MoszQvcgXkKrAVFbR3nbOESkzENkLZ6Ns-M9JL1JchGsTgY9vkLcBo0nWtF_Tz6bcWEPshozMN58kLyF34OiJO9pLlcvNykYZelBvQ75HWmhh0HZObHGITiz1vmRDuRurarSsHPKsyN6/s1600/g.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2MoszQvcgXkKrAVFbR3nbOESkzENkLZ6Ns-M9JL1JchGsTgY9vkLcBo0nWtF_Tz6bcWEPshozMN58kLyF34OiJO9pLlcvNykYZelBvQ75HWmhh0HZObHGITiz1vmRDuRurarSsHPKsyN6/s1600/g.jpg" height="409" width="640" /></a></div>
<div align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;">
“My instrument is
fashion. I use my instrument to be bold. I had this idea that if you wear
clothes so exaggerated and out there, people will look, and then they will
listen.” – Miuccia Prada<o:p></o:p></div>
<div align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;">
It’s all quite loud
and outrageous really, a metamorphism of city chic meets street art in a pop
art world of colour and liberation. With the show starting out an exquisite
cataclysm of colours and abstract art. Gradually transforming into an elaborate
assortment of monumental feminist statements made in simply one fashion show
through the art of voicing opinion through exquisite design.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;">
A darkly decadent
spin on urban street style/sportswear meets high class fashion. It’s a complete
parallel to Miuccia Prada’s usual designs a new trend and style in which she
delved into with a headstrong clear determination and boy did she pull it off.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;">
With models strutting
the runway in sports socks and embroidered bras, extravagant bags and
effervescent dresses. It’s a mesmerizing work of art devised by a beautiful
mind, with the venue being created in such a perplexing fashion it’s almost a
little too much to take in at once. Miuccia aim was to please, shock and awe
her audience and make them want to buy her collection and she did. Colour
blocking bras onto dresses and coats it’s an eccentric field day for fashion
but works perfectly in emphasis and collaboration with the landscape
surrounding.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;">

Prada’s mission to
encourage the concept of feminism into fashion is a visual and inspirational
motif throughout their own collections and designs, as well as inspiring the
world and their clientèle to fulfil their idea. Empowering women through
fashion and by dressing them in extravagant attire that will turn heads is
almost Miuccia’s mission statement. Giving women the ability to make a
statement and make a stand through one of our most desired accessories.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;">
Taking the graphic
tee to a new level by placing Jeanne Detallante and El Mac’s art (two of the
six artists work) on not only the contiguous back drop but on the garments
itself creating a whole new genre of fashion. Delving into the concept of
feminist meets fashionista they helped create what Miuccia envisaged. Working
for a new commission ‘in the heart of multitude’ a project collaborating with
artists and illustrators to elaborate on themes of femininity, empowerment,
multiplicity and representation.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;">
El Mac (Miles McGregor) acquired his
inspirations from graffiti, photorealism and Chicano. Also Mexican culture and
is often commissioned to create murals and has worked all over the USA. You can
see his inspirations clearly throughout his work including the environment of
the show depicting intricate images of women appearing seductive through power
not sex appeal. Jeanne Detallante has developed a well-established style exploring
the mythological and high end fashion. Fairy tales and high end editorials
incorporated into one artist’s portfolio. Detallante is a versatile mastermind
creating imaginary worlds which transpires into the interior design of the Via
Fogazzaro. However as much as art appears to have influenced this collection
Miuccia insists that art didn't influence her designs and said “I want to stick
to my roots as a fashion designer”.<o:p></o:p></div>

Remarkably the Prada collection is a complete parallel to Valentino’s ready to
Wear Spring/Summer 2014 collection. A mesmerizing, breathtaking collection on
the other spectrum. Prada was loud and out there Valentino however has created
an intimate collection of delicate sheer fabrics and a simpler colour palette
of ivories and rich gold and blacks however they both share the inspiration of
femininity although Valentino delves into it on a far deeper form.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;">
All varieties of
nature had a certain influence on Valentino’s collection from a trail of
elegant butterflies to lions and animalistic forms incorporating all organic
forms from the beauty of a flower to the colour scheme of a cloudy skyline. Maria
Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli the creative directors described the
collection as a journey and you can see it visibly through the gradients of the
colour variation almost as if travelling on a safari and depicting each variant
in colour as a different animal and environment along the way.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;">
The usage of earthy
tones and shades was a complete contrast in comparison to Miuccia Prada’s
vibrant colour blocking technique. Also the lack of embellishments in
comparison to Prada’s over extravagant bras and clutches. Using music rather
than art as there form of flow the collection has a much more elegant refined approach
in comparison to Prada’s edgy, modern spin. African culture mixed with tribal
prints going on a safari was the feel of this collection. With each piece
hardly relating to the next it was apparent they were confident in their
finesse and new exactly how to execute their collection. It’s all very organic
and earthy using anther method to exude femininity through nature and women’s
natural <o:wrapblock><v:shape alt="http://celebmafia.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Valentino-Haute-Couture-Spring-20141.jpg" id="Picture_x0020_2" o:spid="_x0000_s1026" style="height: 251.95pt; left: 0; margin-left: 0; margin-top: 87.85pt; mso-height-percent: 0; mso-height-percent: 0; mso-height-relative: page; mso-position-horizontal-relative: margin; mso-position-horizontal: center; mso-position-vertical-relative: text; mso-position-vertical: absolute; mso-width-percent: 0; mso-width-percent: 0; mso-width-relative: page; mso-wrap-distance-bottom: 0; mso-wrap-distance-left: 9pt; mso-wrap-distance-right: 9pt; mso-wrap-distance-top: 0; mso-wrap-style: square; position: absolute; text-align: left; visibility: visible; width: 167.65pt; z-index: 251659264;" type="#_x0000_t75">

form rather than adapting and transforming like Prada.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;">

<div align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;">
Overall I feel Miuccia
achieved what she wanted to achieve however I don’t feel it expresses true
feminist passion and empowerment as Prada has simply placed images of women
onto garments and called it empowering women when really their essentially just
publicizing women as objects and that’s not necessarily what they intentionally
meant to do.<o:p></o:p></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVbzVzywDHOEGutbkmCr3ILiMoOS5bMR3drf_knCr6WbRDThocRyPjpyhew_T-loQw5kZfUwoDoNZ6fGDF_Hq_MBFu8_PimuOKpScffU1-_3KU-Ne2WWa-n7YIqEy4lIhLHyWeZ5rwV8sK/s1600/ggg.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVbzVzywDHOEGutbkmCr3ILiMoOS5bMR3drf_knCr6WbRDThocRyPjpyhew_T-loQw5kZfUwoDoNZ6fGDF_Hq_MBFu8_PimuOKpScffU1-_3KU-Ne2WWa-n7YIqEy4lIhLHyWeZ5rwV8sK/s1600/ggg.jpg" height="320" width="222" /></a></div>
<div align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;">
However that being
said Miuccia Prada’s thrive to allow women to wear clothes that turn heads and
give us a voice is what was achieved. These ready to wear clothes are hardly
casual everyday material although if you’re strutting round in one of the
spring/summer numbers you’re bound to turn heads but not necessarily in the
aimed way opted to be achieved. I feel over all the success of the brand is
through Miuccia innovative and original designs however in this particular
collection the message was received but not carried out to its full potential.
A feminist portraying garments with colour block bras and women’s faces
plastered everywhere as much as is different from the usual provocative,
seductive wear it still portrays women as objective figures defined by bras and
lingerie. It’s all a mish mash of colour and controversy and just simply wasn’t
delivered in a way I felt necessary which is unfortunate because the concept
was there just not to my particular taste.<o:p></o:p></div>

Bloggers like myself are constantly seeking platforms to expand their brand,opinions,looks,ideas,creativity you name it. Social networking Is at it's peak from Facebook and Instagram to pinterest and twitter there is simply so many different options on how you can blog, network, make contacts and expand and grow as a blogger and gain exposure to grow a fan base. However one thing was lacking, a gap in the market you might call it, a platform that enabled bloggers to basically say this is who I am do you want to work with me. <div>For example:</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIkJ-CJX2sNW-N9hWzOJkiPt-QTsQCxQI1CQSTaumPBDdvr5Kaw44XmCwFHirmchX-E-p7TzgTBExKNHc72D1YmgGFd2PeBUqH8gms_mZ-g46JSDFjfOmtntRTAIEHCY3NzEwLsk-7-IH_/s640/blogger-image-29704439.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIkJ-CJX2sNW-N9hWzOJkiPt-QTsQCxQI1CQSTaumPBDdvr5Kaw44XmCwFHirmchX-E-p7TzgTBExKNHc72D1YmgGFd2PeBUqH8gms_mZ-g46JSDFjfOmtntRTAIEHCY3NzEwLsk-7-IH_/s640/blogger-image-29704439.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">The Blogger Programme allows bloggers of all spectrums but essentially fashion/beauty inspired to contact companies and pitch an idea or companies can send you a campaign saying what they'd like from you and can offer anything from free gifts, exposure or even something more. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I have been on the website for just under a month and I recorded a campaign to write an article to an audience of 200,000 followers which as fellow bloggers now is an incredible way to gain more exposure and to expand your follower base. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Not only can you contact companies you can also contact other bloggers which is another way to network and set up collaborative pieces etc. With a simple and easy to use profile creator you can include your main blog and all other social networking platforms you can imagine. Pinterest, linked in, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, lookbook, YouTube you name it you can include it. It is all cleanly presented on your profile making it easily accessible and allows people or companies to see your work, style of writing etc and contact you direct rather than ask for links which we all know can be a time consuming process. So essentially they have built a database for passionate bloggers to get out there get themselves noticed and get further exposure.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Also w<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">ith a simple and easy to use search engine allowing you to search the database for companies you may want to represent. With such a large choice it's almost overwhelming however if your like me you do your research and it's just simply another reason why I love the blogger programme and can speak so passionately about it.</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Anyway I'm not here to tell you what the programme is and what it entails I'm here to tell you why I, yes me like it on a personal level. Being an avid blogger and fashion student waiting to break into the industry I'm willing to try anything to profile myself higher and higher and to introduce my name, writing style and ability into the world. However as some of you reading this may know it's not that simple. First of all while your writing about content that you obviously like and have a passion for not everyone shares that same passion but you must come to that realisation and you need to broaden the spectrum of content. Reach out to your audience and always be friendly and appreciative. My blog is my passion however I am not in the same leage as many well known bloggers for example Leanne lim however I am still so humbled for the followers I do have and I can only go up from here which is why the blogger programme is so close to my heart it genuinely is a place where I feel my dreams can be allowed to come true. </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">At seventeen juggling a job, fashion course and constant blog posts may not seem like hard work but when it comes down to it it's difficult to keep up, networking constantly sending email upon email to different companies pitching ideas but the blogger programme has essentially relieved me of that. I have nothing but kind words and the premonition of many success stories due to the programme and I can't thank you enough and I hope everyone reading this will create a profile and get themselves known. </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Thanks The Blogger Programme</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><br></span></div><br></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12583972758182546136noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6722158017449306873.post-81557941511410664372014-01-14T12:30:00.001+00:002014-01-14T12:30:16.206+00:00Walking the red carpetThe Golden Globes a time were beautifully talented people all come together to share and appreciate collaborative works of art. This years Golden globes was by far the most incredible to witness ball gowns and suits of the finest silks and lace incredibly tailored to the actor or actress. I watched avidly live at the red carpet then of course the Golden Globes themselves. <div>The red carpet a time to lust or loath over best and worded dressed, as we all know not everyone gets it right. Lena Dunham in that Canary yellow drop waist dress was a disaster to her shape and figure but on the other hand 12 years a slave star and new comer to the awards Lupita Nyong'o in a beautiful Ralph Lauren red cape dress making a huge statement in the right way. Where as not so 'new girl' Zoeey Deschanel looked incredible in Oscar De La Renta's gold, ivory toned tulle skirt and crop top with a simple pop of red lipstick overall a quirky yet sophisticated look with her unique vintage twist I loved it! Maria Menounos looked flawless in a statement pink dress with cut outs. <div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWATZm4f0DiQKvTLJ8lPEJ7y428XjYj2U_H1Fj_BjMOLHzNo_4-juTdKrokHBW5p0dGK9DpfUtGj_OJdW867U48jVLFOoj1X7zNowtidHnes30izTY9YivXRcu9NnntJyWDFWXwJKKc7F_/s640/blogger-image--1782259503.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWATZm4f0DiQKvTLJ8lPEJ7y428XjYj2U_H1Fj_BjMOLHzNo_4-juTdKrokHBW5p0dGK9DpfUtGj_OJdW867U48jVLFOoj1X7zNowtidHnes30izTY9YivXRcu9NnntJyWDFWXwJKKc7F_/s640/blogger-image--1782259503.jpg"></a></div></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Cate Blanchett with her couture pure black lace Armani Gown hugged her in all the right places with such a small gram she looked elegant and sophisticated. Like royalty she waltzes down the red carpet to later collect a golden globe.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Fashion police co host Giuliana Rancic took a step outside her comfort zone in a floaty Lorena Sarbu princess gown, with a sweetheart neckline and beaded bodice in a beautiful plum,maroon mix but she pulled it off brilliantly with such a petite frame it was tailored to her size immaculately and she truly looked dazzling. Considering this women beat cancer and has a baby at home she didn't look the least bit stressed she looked totally beautiful and I lover her look.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvl7OW6A8bYIE5ueUhptyTKf1ojbRyVRw7lxLrmmvlgwlNjtz0T5o3ceNox8CZEfhDZtmsXB1z5B8kT4hepDsHHWiUWUFtkzA_KsfC3BOAsGPw7ffNhU1wfJNd0IlC4n3E2w_ZApmP1wdk/s640/blogger-image--931989085.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvl7OW6A8bYIE5ueUhptyTKf1ojbRyVRw7lxLrmmvlgwlNjtz0T5o3ceNox8CZEfhDZtmsXB1z5B8kT4hepDsHHWiUWUFtkzA_KsfC3BOAsGPw7ffNhU1wfJNd0IlC4n3E2w_ZApmP1wdk/s640/blogger-image--931989085.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">The best dressed couple goes to Matthew McConaughey and his incredible wife Camila Alves looking stunning in a black sequined Dolce &Gabbana gown and McConaughey in green evolves which looked incredible with the reflection of light onto the sequins making Camila's gown shimmer a green tone. Jack Wills is a clothing brained aimed at university students with its garments holding many historical influences. The Liberty Print is almost nostalgic to envisage in one of Jack Wills collections...</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The Etchingham Liberty Print Bag shown above is a prime example of how such fabric with such historical background can still thrive in modern day Britain. A print and concept established decades ago is still living in vibrancy and with a new beauty as the designers of today have taken their own spin on an original design and used fabrics other then your basic cotton etc. </div>

<span style="background-color: white; color: #474747; font-family: 'Austin Italic', Palatino, Palladio, 'URW Palladio L', 'Book Antiqua', Baskerville, 'Bookman Old Style', 'Bitstream Charter', 'Nimbus Roman No9 L', Garamond, 'Apple Garamond', 'ITC Garamond Narrow', 'New Century Schoolbook', 'Century Schoolbook', 'Century Schoolbook L', Georgia, serif; font-size: 2.25rem; line-height: 2.25rem;">The"liberty print"</span></div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;">
Is now a very common print to be seen in the garments of today in a very compelling manner due to its up most history and original design still thriving to this day. Shown in Jack Wills Autumn/Winter collection 2013 and accessories including make up bags and purses it is an outright success and will be popular for a lifetime. With no wardrobe being complete without a few pieces of the iconic liberty print. Also in 2012 summer collection pieces with the liberty print where produced also. With an adorable Liberty Print frock added to the collection which sold a treat.</div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;">

<img height="426" src="http://goodbonesgreatpieces.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/makeup11.jpg" width="640" /></div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;">
Thus going to show the Liberty print is essentially still of up most importance to designers in contemporary history. With there patterns shown in Jack Wills collections selling nationwide goes to show the originality of such a concept and how even the simplest of inspirations can get you anywhere. With Liberty selling out its prints worldwide on a tremendous basis there's no saying the pattern and the history that comes along with it will die any time soon.</div>

<u>William Morris designs in comparison with the Liberty Print</u></div>

<div class="separator" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;">
<u>The Liberty Print</u></div>
<div class="separator" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;">
Arthur Liberty started his career began as an apprentice draper going on to intern with many profound companies after ten years he decided to start his own business based on the knowledge he had acquired in his previous years. He named it the East India House selling only oriental products such as rugs and fabrics. Over the years the business took off and the demand for his fabrics where rapidly increasing it was then he had the epiphany of selling un-dyed fabrics and have them hand printed in the style of oriental fabrics. The 1920's is where it all began for the liberty print however,when he delved into the production of mini floral and paisley prints he constructed the idea of what we call today the well established Liberty Print.</div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Geneva, Tahoma, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; letter-spacing: 0.10999999940395355px; line-height: 19px; text-align: start;"><span style="color: #6d6c6c;">Liberty Print Tana Lawn Cottons</span><br /></span><div style="text-align: center;">

Indian textilers at the time were also heavily marketed by Liberty & Co which is also a compelling relationship between the two.</span></span></span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The Snake head design was fairly complex, the colour palette was carefully concocted to relate to the colours and style that was particularly prominent in the Indian fabrics Morris was receiving at the time. He also found great inspiration at the Victoria and Albert Museum at the time known as the South Kensington Museum. Intrigued mainly by the usage and different ways to introduce natural coloured dyes into fabrics.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
With the snake head pattern becoming more popular then the Indian influenced prints themselves the fashion industry erupted with concepts.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img height="183" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvELkAsncHioxQbAAPB3JmNw_jUJGoAtraezdMStpKOeZHowBCsBuBZtjg9q62roPTHg4WWg_YsNDJ0-BAQcriiY4y55NQg2krjHWguqlTUpbkBq68ZgZu7WOtCK7s3wWbXgAxCAEvHZk/s200/william+morris-morris&co-1876-snakeshead+4.jpg" width="200" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The snake head is also in the same family as the British lilly so as much as the inspiration came from India it was also very British by nature.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So essentially the Liberty Print and William Morris's designs have a very strong relationship both delving into cultural influences and concepts and bringing them back to good old British home-ground and putting their own spin on it. Both fabrics are still produced today hand in hand.</div>

<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><b style="font-size: x-large;">D</b>elhi is one of the main areas The Monsoon Accessorise Trust helps with large industrial areas of New Delhi which consists of mainly slums with rudimentary or non existent essentials such as fresh water that's non polluted etc. The trust has formed an education centre and a welfare centre with the charity starting off as support for disadvantaged women and children there main cause it to help them. </span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">With many children living near or on railway tracks picking up rubbish for a living the trust establishes this is not a substantial way of living and something needed to be done so they funded a building to create a hospital for this children that were often abandoned or run away from home and many in the unfortunate cases have been in contact with prostitution or drugs so its essential they our brought up with love and care which the trust provides. </span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Rajhstan's children often find work picking cotton or on construction sites which once again isn't an ideal for young children who have received little or no education at all. Therefore they financed over 200 pre schools for under 5 year old's to ensure this doesn't continue. They also allow older children into the schools to receive an education too for their role as guardian of the children while there mothers worked the fields our no longer necessary. They have also financed immunisation clinics and have helped to increase the amount of immunised people by 40%.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://uk.monsoon.co.uk/medias/sys_master/editorial/8807862239262.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><img border="0" height="239" src="http://uk.monsoon.co.uk/medias/sys_master/editorial/8807862239262.jpg" width="400" /></span></a></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Helping people from 1994 they have made a huge impact and different to these peoples lives. Today they our continuing to fund and have touched over 10,000 women and children in Asia per year. In Afghanistan they have helped rebuild and fund the silk industry to provide jobs for women and to decrease the amount of poverty. They our essentially opening up opportunities to women and kids that would have otherwise had no chance in life to get the same opportunities,education and healthcare we receive without a bat of an eye lid.</span></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><b>The boutique and fair trade </b>aspect also helps fund these projects, with only sustainable fashion and re cycling monsoon fabrics and rather then chucking away left over fabrics they transform them and create something new and beautiful in its own right. With all profits going to the trust its a fantastic charity.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://uk.monsoon.co.uk/medias/sys_master/editorial/8808381841438.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://uk.monsoon.co.uk/medias/sys_master/editorial/8808381841438.jpg" width="271" /></span></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">By ensuring they use more energy efficient equipment in their stores they our once again preserving life and our participating in the green action programme. Constantly looking for new ways to package their products in a more sustainable way they only use FSC paper bags and biodegradable plastics. In Wales they have taken a dramatic step by charging customers 5p per bag to hopefully ensure and put off customers from buying their bags to reduce the amount of waste. Cleverly they have put the alternatives of using a reusable bag once again encouraging re using and recycling or a cotton bag with all of the profits going to charities in Wales.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">But the main interest of mine is their sustainable fashion, Monsoon create beautiful garments and products, at present they our helping Indian fashion students to use sustainable fabrics and also through their clothes for life campaign they encourage customers to up cycle their old clothes rather than throw them away.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: left;">
<b style="font-size: x-large;">B</b>eginning in 1880 in my home town of Britain then rapidly spread to America, Europe and even Japan. You may be wondering who inspired this great movement, well the two main ingredients in such a movement was William Morris and John Ruskin, Morris a designer/artist in his own right and Ruskin a theorist and critic so had a significant amount of reasoning for such a movement. Traditional arts and crafts almost had a revamp, Morris and Ruskin essentially re assessed the design of ordinary domestic objects and re addressed their importance and beauty in the art form. Being one of the most profound movements it made an impact especially as it was addressing the times of living standards where industrialism was at an all time high and common people were no longer intrigued by beautiful works of art so essentially the created a movement of the arts on such a broad spectrum that even the home became a work of art.</div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u><b>The Pearl Exhibition</b></u></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u><br /></u></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b><span style="font-size: large;">T</span></b>he fascination with pearls has transcended through centuries of historical and significant figures of great wealth and desire. Being objects of desire due to their rarity and beauty and as an object portrays great wealth as you'd need a lot of money to purchase them. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b><span style="font-size: large;">M</span></b>yths and Legends surround the pearls origin however the mystery of the formation of a pearl has been discovered in recent years so the myths maintain there 'fantasy' concept. The pure beauty of them is simply captivating and the exhibition complimented that by creating an intimate setting of dimly lit lights with a single spotlight in each glass cabinet. Exuding lust and desire almost personified as everyone was so eager to get a look in it was unfortunately proven a difficulty at times to see at all. However this was all forgotten when I laid eyes on the pearl necklace in exquisite colours, a piece belonging to the Carnevale Collection. My fascination with this piece and the collection alone came about simply because it was different, an oddity to its companions and I felt almost compelled to voyage into its natural beauty that I had to publish it. Its captivating colours in pearl white and pastel shades of pink and purple was a refreshing addition to the exhibit most consisting of pearl white earring or jewellery or some form of apparel none of which seemed to fascinate me so. Except of course Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor, two iconic women in the media both portrayed as captivating beauties similar to the pearls they wore on there ears and neck. But still I was far more intrigued by these coloured pearls naturally curated in a shell also a miraculous form of nature. Created alone by a single parasite (a worm) entering the shells mantle (the mother pearl) forming a cyst where the pearl begins to grow.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b><span style="font-size: large;">T</span></b>he coloured pearls (Culture pearls from the South Sea) which is what I was particularly interested in come in countless colours and variations due to the different types of molluscs they are grown in and even how they have been farmed affects the colour variation. With the mother of all pearls Pinctada Maxima creating the desire for south sea pearls creating the finest of its seas in marvellous vibrancies and iridescence; often white or grey or a beautiful golden gem of even more vibrancy. The Pinctada Margaritifera however creates the infamous Tahitian black pearl although now always true to its name as the black lipped oyster often creates white pearls and the black pearls often take on a green or blue hue sometimes even a lustrous aubergine almost reminiscent of the colours of a peacocks feathers, its a spectacular find that's for sure. With the black pearl actually being one of the rarest and therefore most expensive of the pearl family it is a rarity to see and at the pearl exhibition at the V& A we were lucky enough to set eyes on a natural pearl it was an extraordinary sight. More extraordinary even as it is often not black but the name itself originates from the organism it is produced in.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">The iridescent colours our captured in the X-ray image. A black pearl in a black lipped oyster.</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<b><span style="font-size: large;">U</span></b>nfortunately as I learnt at the exhibition the rarity of the pearls has decreased rapidly as the natural ones our harder to come by and the cultured ones our farmed in mass production therefore deducting the expense of what we now no as a common element in jewellery and make-up, the pearl. The exhibition itself compacted a vast amount of information into a simple set out production of garment, images and jewellery the concept was there however the planning was not although I was previously told it took nearly ten years to plan the exhibition the space and the layout was not complimentary of that long process. It was a claustrophobic event with the older generation knocking you out of the way and in the viewpoint of the pearls. The restriction of being unable to sketch or take photos was also a nuisance considering the contents of our project however over all the exhibition held a great amount of knowledge and wealth that I feel honoured to have parted with.<br /><div style="text-align: left;">

Using an unpicker we started by removing the lining from the jacket followed by the padding and internal part. Then we took it apart even more by removing the sleeves etc until each piece was seperated and we were left only with material. Considering the 'deconstruction' project is our first piece it is new ground to delve into, we started by researching artists such as Martin Margiela who has created deconstructed pieces similar to what we are to acvieve. We also looked at Alexander McQueen's bride/groom deconstruction,Koji Tatsuno's structure in fashion and Yoji Yammamoto's architectural fashion as we found Japanese Fashion reallt grasped concept of Deconstruction design and also structure in fashion as before it was almost a taboo, an art never delved into by designers that only created ready to wear.</span></div>

We then got to experiment with different materials such as netting to implement structure and also bonning to play around with a stronger form of structure and a more 3D effect on an otherwise flat design. On further researching of different designers and artists I experiemented with different techniques such as implementing structure and 3D design when looking at Koji Tatsuno and Yoji Yammamoto. But what really inspired me was Alexander McQueens stripped bare short film which was an intimate shoot of him creating a deconstructed piece. Using techniques such as rouching and scrunching and ripping to create different elements to his design.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">A <span style="font-size: x-small;">simple yet complex concept of an intimate short film of Alexander Mcqueen at work. Creating a unisex form of deconstructionism in the replica of a bride/groom combined into one design. A metamorphis of feminity crossed with masculinity in the form of a piece constructed so rapidly its mesmerising to watch. The design and the way McQueen plays with the fabrics in front of him gives you an insight of simply how brilliant a mastermind he really is. Taking simply a man draped in a shirt and fabric and transforming it into a visual masterpiece even down to the backdrop and gold glitter embellishments towards the ends. McQueen scrunches and rouches the fabric to create different textures and shapes using the material in various ways to completely transform its original state, which is essentially the definition of deconstructionism and the elements required to deconstruct a piece. Using blocks as embellishements on the models feet lifted the whole piece and created a whole different viewpoint and concept to the design. Grabbing a piece of netting he drapes it onto the models head creating a long veil, thus implementing the femininity into the design. Pinning when he liked what he saw he then continues to create an even more visually astonishing piece by painting the entire of the models lower body and the material and then goes on and chucks white paint over the model so it created a more random, unsymettrical effect and creating an even more interesting aspect. The models face already being white he creates a contrast by getting the model to bight the black tie around his neck and using a blow machine whisks the gold glitter around the cascading metamorphis he has before him, its simply brilliant.</span></span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Koji Tatsuno infiltrated the fashion industry by storm creating the concept of architectural designer in fashion into a reality. Delving into the industry with no training simply a beautiful minded artist ready to make his mark. Koji is passionate about combining raw and plain materials with expensive fabrics, bored with the mainstream shapes and movement of garments with each designers pieces become predictable he wanted to make a stand. Koji is the master of his craft of creating garments which fabrics appear three dimensional taking the traditional Japanese designers motto of finding the extraordinary in the ordinary.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Using outrageous materials such as seaweed,coils of rope,latex,acid paper and ribbons all visible seen in elements of his creations you can see why he is such an influential artist.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<img src="http://media.withtank.com/b57b346fc0/213e8f3187_460_wide.jpg" /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
In some ways Koji differs greatly from Martin Margiela due to the reason for his designs however similar in such that he to likes to delve into the weird and wonderful of material for example natural resources such as seaweed which in term is some form of re using could be argued he too delved into the art of deconstruction ism. Delving into the world of architecture (which he studied) he has created and once again mastered another craft and is an overall artist which is reflected in his work as seen in the image above taking natural elements and reconstructing them into designs for this he has taken the shape and movement of a pine cone.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Working alongside Koji was the infamous Alexander McQueen who you can visible see in his work the influences and mind set of Koji Tatsuno, McQueen also liked to delve into the weird and wonderful and rather than create ready to wear he'd create art. Pieces with elements of structure and natural elements which is very visible in a lot of his lines.</div>

A show where the likes of shadows,flatness,tradition and innovation was combined with deconstruction and the minds of exquisite masters of their critique turning fashion essentially into another form of art.</span></div>

Japanese Fashion and its creators varied from the norm and creations of its time. Implementing a completely new and outrageous concept to the world of design. Flat and embellished designs replaced with 3D organza's of fabrics and monochrome. An era where 2D and 3D where incorporated into one garment on an out of this world level. The concept of creating fashion not for wear but as a piece of art, implementing structure and reconstruction into garments was almost a taboo that no designer had ventured into until then. Even the likes of Alexander McQueen was greatly influenced by such garments and designers, the concept of creating art through fashion and not so much for wear and for the everyday was somewhat a trademark of his. Japanese fashion designers revolutionized clothing!</div>

Being traced in every nook and cranny of every designers influential pieces is a Japanese avant-garde form. The 1980's was their big break essentially, runway's portraying philosophical and artistic elements,expressing ground breaking innovations, creating a story and a definition through a garment. For example the famous Rei Kawakubu's sack dress representing poverty and concealing rather then revealing the female form.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The art of bonning can be seen in many garments of this time and big,elaborate designs as shown below bonning has been used to create a large layered skirt, the epitome of a Disney Cinderella ball gown. Issey Miyake often was quite fascinated with the movement of a body and the way he can implement the movement of a body into his designs, also the idea of creating a garment using one piece of very simple cloth. Using the body as part of the canvas rather than the canvas itself, meaning his garments flowed and became one with the body.</div>

<span style="color: black; font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace; font-size: x-small;">This piece is particularly intriguing because of the way he has constructed the piece and the material in which Margiela used to create the apparel. By using women's evening gloves Matin Margiela has pieced together almost like a jicksaw to reconstruct a piece worn on your hands into covering a larger part of the body. I noticed he used the the different tones and colours of each individual deconstructed glove to form a fascinating women's garment. It shows and emphasises the art of recycling and reusing as well as the way fashion is another way to portray a piece of art. It is simply fascinating; to be able to visualize and further create a piece such as this which is wearable and presentable to the public eye is incredible.</span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace; font-size: x-small;">This beautiful garment has been hand crafted after de constructing what appears to be originally some form of denim apparel almost like denim blue jeans.However, I may be wrong in thinking that.Each shade carefully strung together in order, which on further analysis I noticed it created an ombre effect.I particularly appreciate this piece as it emphasises the project we are about to construct and also because of how feminine Martin Margiela has created it.</span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace; font-size: x-small;">I chose this piece to talk about due to its relation to the deconstructing a suit jacket project we are participating in at present. It shows development and perfecting of the weaving technique which we just experimented with. It also once again emphasises the length in which we can re construct a piece in a completely different fashion. I noticed that the woven fabric appears like white leather giving it a sheen especially against the white background. The broken weaves at the front create a more dramatic and intriguing effect but also an unfinished one which once again relates abck to our own project and only having a limited amount of material.Margiela shows how you can adapt a little fabric and make it look like its meant to be like that.</span></div>

Being a lover of boudoir fashion and the idea of wearing your underwear out is an obsession of mine so I simply adore this fascinating trend. Yet another trend to ignite controversy throughout the nation parents unwilling to let there little girls expose themselves through the likes of see through clothing. Over the past six years its developed from a simple pop up trend to full on fashion lines. Rail after rail of sheer clothing are being rushed into big stores and are being strutted on the catwalk. It's a beautiful concept outshining previous trends in its path. It empowers women, creating a sultry,sexy look or could be a very classy one if done right. Its sex appeal in a product and fashion designers are going mad for it!</div>

Considering the recent exhibition of Chanel's little black jacket at the Dietz gallery I thought it only appropriate to do a post about it. This iconic Chanel piece has been through timeless decades and has a bigger history then you or me. Coco Chanel first cam up with the idea back in 1954 incredible! The Chanel jacket being spotlighted in the fashion industry for 58 years and yet still manages to keep its chic edge even in 2013 Coco Chanel is a genius. In fact it is so famous and such a tradition for Chanel that they wrote a book on it (the little black jacket:Chanel's classic revisited). It has thrived through so many phases in fashion and has still held strong this iconic masterpiece is one to watch and will still be around when you have grand kids.</div>
